The first transformation of the year belongs to our half bath. I think I mentioned that the only way we were able to afford a 4-bedroom colonial with a great yard and garage was because the kitchen and half bath are 1960 originals. SuperDad spent the week after Christmas dismantling the room all the way down to the subfloor. He then recreated the room to the current state. We love it. It's funny because to look at it you would think that our style is very country, for goodness sake there are flowers and bows. The colors were perfect, though. Here's the before and after, we hope other people find it as great an improvement as we do. I've heard though, the dusty rose sink and toilet might have been worth something on Ebay, they're coming back in style. Ugh.
Bathroom before: (and the toilet matched the sink and tile)
Bathroom after:
I'm so lucky that SuperDad is very handy and that my father, who is also very handy, is retired and available for all remodeling jobs!

It looks great!
Hey there
Just catching up on blog reading and read your one about not doing Ironman etc...
I never in a million years thought I would be training to do an Ironman, but even if I wasn't, I would still call myself a triathlete. Ironman can be a pretty selfish thing when you are a Mum - I battle with guilt every day, sometimes to the point that I wonder if doing it was a good idea, but I'm nearly there now, so I'm not giving in.
My battles are with myself, my chllenges are to myself, my wins are all my own, and my failures are mine to deal with. I do this to be fitter, stronger, healthier, a better mom and wife, and a better person all round. This keeps me sane, it gives me a "thing" that is mine, and it takes me to races and events that I will remember forever. It doesn't matter how long the distances are, or if I have a good or a bad race, I did it!! It means I'm alive!
Keep going, keep doing it because it's fun, and if you ever feel like doing an Ironman, then you will when you are ready - or not, but you will always be a triathlete!
It's the towel hook, without the matching towel. I found exactly the right color blue at Walmart. I'm starting to understand why people get so excited about home furnishings. I've never had a toom to be proud of before. It's only the bathroom, but it's a start.
Love the colors!
That dusty rose colored sink is pretty special though. Bet you'll miss it. ;)
The original sink reminds me of my Grandmothers bathroom many many many years ago. I really like the transformation that you guys did!
