Oh yeah, that felt good

This morning was a great workout. It was called cardio strength intervals, the first 30 minutes was made up of 1-minute intervals on the step with 15-20 seconds rest between. We did things like lunges, jumping jacks, lateral over-the-tops, and straddles- familiar terms if you've taken a step aerobics class. It sure got my heart rate pumping for a Monday morning. The last 15 minutes of class was a light weights workout, 8 lb hand weights with reps of chest press, shoulder press, biceps and triceps before a nice stretch cool down. What a way to start the week.

Went for my second ob/gyn appt, heard the heartbeat- which was great. I feel like it's official now. I'm glad to still be wearing my regular clothes, my size 10 jeans have been my looser ones for the past few months and they're not so loose right now but they're still on and buttoned. I've gained 3.5 pounds so far- much better than the first 2 pregnancies. I'm hoping to hold off on maternity clothes for at least a couple weeks. All my stuff from last time is too big because I started off 35 pounds heavier. A problem I'm happy to have, but I don't really want to spend money on maternity clothes I'll only wear for a few months. At least I'm near some outlets and good consignment stores.

Tough day at work today. Major lay-offs going around. I'm fortunate that it doesn't look like my group will be impacted, at least not for a while. Unfortunately, I've got quite a few friends that did not fare so well. Makes it hard to maintain motivation when there are some really good people being shown the door while some slackers seem to hang around forever.

Pregnancy status: 11 weeks, 1 day; 202 days to go.

Wow, 35 pounds lost - impressive! Sorry to hear about the layoffs. We went through that in my school district. Things can get ugly.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a consignment store plan for maternity clothes. Assuming I ever get pregnant - I've never wanted to blow a bunch of money on a temporary wardrobe.

You rock so hard for getting to the gym at dark o'clock when your hormones must have you all wacked out and sleepy!

Layoffs are awful. I was layed off when I was 30 weeks pregnant and the stress got to me and ended up having the baby 3 weeks later. (7 weeks early)

We've had layoffs at work recently too. I guess I'm lucky not to have been impacted, but also have some friends that were. That stinks.

Maybe some of the tops will fit later in your pregnancy. When I was pregnant I found a local 'slightly used' store that had maternity clothes. That seemed like a good deal given how short of a time they actually get used. Maybe you can find something like that near you.
