Quick weight loss, not worth it

I'm not really in weight loss mode right now, obviously, but I did manage to lose a quick 3 pounds. A stomach virus will do that for you. There were 8 awful hours of vomiting and 36 hours later I've still got a lot of lingering nausea and a fear of eating. In the past 24 hours I've had a couple cans of ginger ale, some crackers, toast, chicken broth and this morning I tried a bowl of cereal. So far it's stayed down. I had planned another swim workout yesterday morning that I had to skip because I didn't sleep over night. Other than that it was a good beginning to the year on getting to the gym and staying active. Monday morning starts the new gym classes schedule so my week will go like this:
Monday 6-6:45a: Cardio strength class- kickboxing and circuit training type cardio
Tues 5:30a: 20 min of cardio- treadmill or elliptical trainer; 6-6:45a- gutts & butts strength class
Wed 5-6a: swim
Thurs 6-6:45a: Cardio blast- interval style class
Fri 5-6a: swim

There aren't any run or bike specific workouts but since I'm not in training for any run or bike events I just want to keep my general cardio fitness up. I like the group classes in the morning because the people are nice and the workouts don't get too boring. I'm just hoping to keep up a better fitness level than I did during either of my first 2 pregnancies. I'm also off to a good start with my meal tracking, although yesterday was easy since it was only 400 calories total.

Today's a birthday party for Superman and my nephew who turned 3 last weekend. It's at a kids' gym where they get to run around and have fun, it will be a good time, I'm sure. I usually tend to snack too much at these things so that's another good thing about the stomach virus because I don't even think I'll be tempted today.

Pregnancy status: 8 weeks 6 days, 218 to go

I think it looks like you're off to a great start to 2007 - except for the stomach virus. Hope you recover quickly from that!!

I'm impressed with your workout load considering you pregnant AND sick!

I like the running pregnancy update. Sorry you're sick, but have to admit is sounds nice nice to not have to work to lose weight!

I guess I shouldn't complain about my sore throat/mouth. Stomach flu has been going around our city as well...it's everywhere. Kudos on keeping up with the Cardio while being pregnant. I never got into exercise until after I had the kids. If I only knew then what I know now. Take Care!!! I had morning sicknes with my daughter and not my son...maybe it a girl:)
